Since the thread was originally about Brethern Arms, here is the Hk33k clone they built me in 5.56.

More important than any coating.

I like NP3 because it is super easy to clean. I do not have any experience with the other coatings. Really just a plain old parkerized one is fine, just takes a little more elbow grease to clean.

Sounds like if you renew your FOID card like you are supposed to and do not commit a crime, you are not going to have any problems. What am I missing, besides my tinfoil hat?
