The sleeve in the hornady dies are nice for supporting the bullet.
I also use an M die for expanded, you can adjust to to flare the mouth a bit more for cast bullets as well.

Re: Hornady LNL AP Ammo Plant Press
I have both Dillon and the LNL in my reloading room. I like both, as they both have pros and cons and some features are better than the other.
Neither are trouble free, customer support has been much better with Hornady.

Re: Sub sonic help
Update: I have everything cycling, feeding, and locking back expect for my lightest load of 8.1. I ended up comparing the buffer spring to my other pistol and found the one in it was longer. http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm198/WeberSteve/63880F41-893D-4743-85AA-B9F4875319B5_zpsplcaubxm.jpg So, ...

Re: Sub sonic help
On the pistol I'm going to double check the gas block alignment, and I lubed it up really well since this is a new build with less than 100 rounds through it.
I was going to start cutting the spring down but wanted to check a few things first, it feels tougher to rack the bolt that my others.

I'll try that as well, thanks.ugareloader wrote:I would try some different mags. I had the same issue with Pmags. I switched to the Lancer L5 and it fixed it. They do not have the front lip that snags the larger sub bullets.

Re: Sub sonic help
No lock back. I'm going to measure the gas port tonight and possibly drill it out if needed.Guest762 wrote:So even if you shoot one shot on a empty mag it doesn't lock back with a 11 gr load?
If so on the pistol it would seem to be the gas port size.

Re: Sub sonic help
First, the piston length gas tube should run better with subsonics. However, standard questions: 1) What buffer? Standard carbine buffer and spring 2) What size gas port? One of the carbine gas systems is 0.102", going to check the pistol length tonight. 3) Adjustable gas block? No 4) Do facto...
