Re: Most accurate coated lead subsonic bullet you’ve seen
BangBangPing, thanks, I have added a Lee expander die to my list of things to buy and have contacted NOE regarding the correct expander plug for the .309" coated bullet I am using.

Re: Most accurate coated lead subsonic bullet you’ve seen
watching with interest. Have some MBC 245 coated I would like to find a load for. Me too. Only I'm running them in a bolt gun so want to stay away from powders meant for use in a semi-auto. Stuff like 4227, 296 etc. Looking for loads using fast burning pistol powders like Clays, Bullseye, Unique, N...

Re: Bolt Gun Loads for Heavy Bullets
I have W296 (same as H110) and a bunch of 4227. I haven't used those in my bolt gun cause I think they will be slower burning and thus louder than powders like N320, Red Dot or Trailboss. I use a lot of 150gr subs over 6.0gr of Trailboss, which is REALLY quiet. 8) The limitation of trail boss is tha...

Re: Bolt Gun Loads for Heavy Bullets
Most of those loads are meant to cycle a semi auto action. Those powders are slower and will be louder. I'm looking for bolt gun specific loads using faster pistol powder to keep the noise to a minimum.

Re: Remington 700 Custom
I have had similar problems with my Rem 700 custom. I've tried to run the OEM magazine and an AICS mag, with similar results. The round tends to nose in to the back end of the barrel. As I do not want to run a chassis or extended magazine, my plan is to 3D print a custom magazine insert to convert t...

Re: loud / quiet
Hearing damage is all about a time-dose equation. 120 dB constant noise is extremely loud. 120 dB impulse noise for 100 microseconds is very quiet. You can't compare constant noise to impulse noise. As an example, 110 dB is the quietest possible suppressed gunshot (suppressed 22 rifle) and is basica...

Re: Quietest dedicated subsonic suppressor
If FRP is a huge issue, a bit of coolant in the blast chamber will eliminate that. Doesn't take much. I have spit in the back of a can. Water or spit is cheaper and more convenient than compressed nitrogen or argon.
