Re: Your favorite Charging Handle?

A milspec one- it doesn't catch my gear or dig into my chest whilst waltzing through the woods in search of Bambi and his little friends.

Re: How it CTD still in business?

I buy from them whenever they have something I want and it is a reasonable price. There are many people like me. If they don't charge what the market will bear, you'll just have gun nuts buying all of whatever it is and then turning absurd profits on gunbroker. I don't blame them in the least for pr...

Re: My First 300 blk build and Introduction

thank all, honestly, i'm just really glad that it ran. i plan on running some sub-sonic rounds to see if it'll function properly. id also like to try some hunting loads and gauge the recoil and reliability aspect of it, compared to the Fiocchis 150gr Have you tried shooting it unsuppressed with sub...

Re: Massive 300blk penetration disappointments.

My concerns were with "hard" target penetration, not deer. I shot some pigs over the weekend with 300blk. It performed as I expected--flawlessly, but the shot placement could have taken them down with a 5.56 or even lower/smaller. What I was more concerned about with pigs was a 400lb mons...

Re: Massive 300blk penetration disappointments.

I haven't fully absorbed what this means but it certainly has me thinking about its use against big hogs, barriers of varying thickness, IIIa and III vests, etc. I'd really love to hear from some knowledgeable folks why this doesn't matter, especially in a world where barrier blind is becoming more...

Re: 300BLK vs 300Whisper

Thank you Robert, this is what I thought. We had a customer come in the other day who swore that he could not get a Hornady 300 Whisper round to fully seat in an AAC 300 Barrel, however he said that his Remington 300 BLK ammo worked fine in it. I was not the one who spoke with him. It was my opinion...

Re: 300BLK vs 300Whisper

Aren't the specs on a the BLK's throat length a bit different from the Whisper? I was of the understanding that the BLK's bullet was allowed to be seated a little bit further out than the Whisper? IE you could use Whisper ammo in a BLK chamber, but not necessarily the other way around?

http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m105/enj0i2001/Barnes110GrainVORTX300BLKDeer07Dec2012.jpg 110 Gr. Barnes VORTX striketh again. They need to call it the 300 Satan, not 300 BLK. Exit wound was a cavity large enough to drop the silencer into. EDIT: Stepped off shot and it was about 122 yards, not 7...

Re: Live round wont eject.

I have an AAC upper and haven't had any problem with the Barnes Ammo as far as extraction is concerned (killed 2 bucks with it actually). I am using a Fail Zero BCG.

Re: 300 BLK kill pics.

I want to tell you, that little 300 BLK SBR with Barnes VORTX 110 Grain is purely satanic on deer. This last buck cut a complete back flip, landed on his feet which promptly crumpled beneath him, tail twitched twice, and he was dead. I wouldn't want to hunt around here with an unwieldy full size rif...
