Re: First deer taken for long time Blackout'er (graphic GSW images)
So, the bullet from the OP should have hit the doe at below 2,300fps; so maybe it didn't frag'?

Re: Looking for advice on 300 blk crimps
When loading 300 AAC for accuracy, consistency, do y'all find the Lee Factory Crimp die to be better than a Dillon Taper Crimp die? I have used the Lee for years and its worked great for me, but I'm considering switching as I got to thinking that the Dillon may lead to better concentricity. Thanks f...

Re: First deer taken for long time Blackout'er (graphic GSW images)
Looks like the bullet did its job. What distance would you estimate? And was this with your hot loaded cartridge? The shot was close; I did not have a range finder, but my buddy and I both eyeballed it at 50 yards even, and no more than 60yds at most. This was NOT the <2,500 FPS loading, however, i...

First deer taken for long time Blackout'er (graphic GSW images)
Hey all, I thought you would appreciate seeing what happened when I shot a fat doe with a 110gr Barnes Tac-TX at <2,400fps. I normally hunt with a 6.8 SPC, but it was thrown from a Gator at about 20mph on the way in from a hunt on Saturday night; the zero was bumped seemingly a Mil. and I didn't hav...

Re: 180gr rainier plated hollow point subsonic loads
Dellet and Bob, Thank you both very much for your contributions of time information. Bob's video was extremely informative. Rather than modify a seating rod in my Lee seating die, I simply flipped it over to the flat side down; or "bottom's up". This immediately solved my COAL issue; I now...

Re: 180gr rainier plated hollow point subsonic loads
I thought I would chime in with some data I've been working up for my firearm with the Rainier 180gr LeadSafe Subsonic (Not the hollow point, but I believe the projectile's OAL is the same as the HP's). I ordered a lot of these on sale recently. So far I'm pleased with them for the price and think t...

I have a Noveske 8" that runs suppressed. Hey all, I've been working these projectiles down slowly for a while now and I think I this next batch will be right around 1,050fps; finally. For me, that will be a CCI Small Pistol Mag primer, case formed from .223s, 8.9gr H110 with a COAL of 1.950&qu...
