Re: Noveske 300 AAC Blackout 220 Grain Ballistic Glow Tip Subsonic 20 Count - round 2
Put one into gallon, water filled jugs @ 25 yds. AAC 16". Bullet partially exited 4th jug and only scratched the 5th. The plunger was found in the 1st jug. http://i434.photobucket.com/albums/qq66/4link2st/Lehigh001_zpsc98f07c7.jpg http://i434.photobucket.com/albums/qq66/4link2st/Lehigh002_zps05...

Re: 51T System = loose SDN6
This results in a large amount of play and wobble for it to rest in the previous lands of the teeth. Swapping them, the issue seems to follow the suppressor. Any ideas? Does it stop in the previous tooth? If so, that is O.K. and is well within tolerance. Perfectly normal. All of mine can do that to...

Re: American Sniper - movie revue
Wife and I just saw it several hours ago. I don't think I've ever seen a movie end and heard nothing but absolute, deafening silence for the longest time. You could have heard a pin drop. Utter reverence and speechlessness.

Re: AAC 308 18 inch barrel with 1-8 twist.
I used to know at what rpm a 110-VMAX would blow up, but now I forget. But looking at my old emails, I think nothing could blow up in a 1:8 twist. It took a 1:4 twist to blow up some fragile bullets. So yeah - 1:8 is not even "fast" twist. The guy at the govt lab that did research on this...

Wow! Can't beat that!firedavis wrote:Got the barrel today and for $150 can't beat it. Really can't beat that it came with a 51-tooth flash hider on it instead of a thread protector.
Thanks for the bullet info Robert.

Re: AAC 308 18 inch barrel with 1-8 twist.
There is no problem with supersonic bullets, except maybe certain thin jacket 110 grain. Yes, this would have been my only concern. I'm thinking of the 110 gr Hornady V-MAX, for example, although I'm not sure if it is really thin-jacketed. I would assume so, since it IS a varmint bullet. BTW Robert...
