So I got the rifle built. I still have a lot to buy and do for the overall project, but the gun is fully assembled. I still need to decide if that is the muzzle brake I want to go with, which is why it is not installed as of yet. The gun looks funny because I changed gears on what I wanted out of it in the middle of the build. I'm still waiting on iron sights and accessories to get here, I have to decide on a sling and optics, there is up to three upgrades I want to make depending on performance of said parts, there's a paint job coming, there are several more tweaks and mods I need to complete before I test fire, reloading dies, components, and casting equipment need purchased, and this guy is getting a dedicated load out including armor.

No. Might be a copy??? Just a cheap Chinese one. This rifles primary focus is self defense. I just want it to be as loud and disorienting as possible to an attacker I have a 20 cal version of this brake on my 5.56 and it is very loud and fire-ball-ey.plant.one wrote:is that a ross brake?

I have the same brake on my .308. It is pretty loud. It helps a lot with recoil, but the shouldn't be an issue with 300 BLK. Personally, I would go for a quiet weapon for home defense. You might disorient yourself as much as them. You'll be temporarily deaf, too. I go for subs with a can if possible.

Inside a house, unless you live in a mansion, anything that effects them will effect you. You'll have the benefit of tunnel vision and stress induced sensory loss, but that doesn't mean it won't be enough to harm your hearing.
Subs and a can are a good option if you can swing it (and it's legal).

I'm curious what the original plan was.The Collector wrote:The gun looks funny because I changed gears on what I wanted out of it in the middle of the build.
