For those of you with direct thread suppressors, you have likely come across the issue of loosening.
At a recent match, one of my teamates blew three stages because his suppressor loosened enough to shift his POI.
This made me want to point out to the community how to prevent this from happening.
This has happened to me as well and when it does, I get a consistent 2 MOA POI shift down.
The reason it happened to me and my teamate was the use of a new CLP product called NDL 360 CLP.

We were given samples of it to try out by Carolina Defense and the product works so well that it created this condition when it got onto the threads of our suppressors.
Regardless of why this happened or what causes conditions like this, preventing it is super easy.
The answer, clean your muzzle threads well and apply high temp, nickel based anti-seize.
The product is rated to 2400°F (1316°C) and is thick enough that it prevents loosening after being installed hand tight.
Anyhow, I wanted to make sure that this information got out there.
Direct thread suppressors have a lot of advantages to them, but unintentional loosening is their biggest detractor.
Have a Happy New Year Everyone!

Thanks Phil! I am paranoid about the Cyclone getting loose and check it constantly. I don't use what caused your problem but I will use some high temp anti seize.
You can't beat the mountain, pilgrim. Mountains got its own way.

Thanks Doc.
I've used the stuff for years when assembling rifles. I use it on barrel nuts and muzzle devices. I know most folks use some sort of thread locker or rockset.
Got the ideas from years of racing dirt bikes. Every time I bought a new bike, whether brand new or just new to me. First thing I did was strip em down piece at a time (chassis parts mostly) and apply that same anti seize.
Even though I've not shot one of my host firearms a lot with my supressor, all 3 have a light coat o. The threads.
PS: a little goes a long way. I've had the same tube for prob 20 years.

Yep same stuff I use. You can get a bottle of it with a brush built into the cap
Re: Direct Thread Suppressor PSA
I put a drop of rockset on my threads a year ago and it's still tight as can be

This X1000... I have a love/hate relationship with the stuff. Unless I really need the liquid anti-seize, I use this stuff instead:plant.one wrote: and everything else withing 50' of said tube of stuff! i love antiseize but it gets on EVERYTHING lol

It works well, and is not messy at all. They also make a nickel version.
