...before giving up on the 68grn, you might want to try modifying your OAL and grain increments. I was surprised the differences in "FPS/SD/Avg Grp" I obtained going from 2.250" to 2.247" and smaller load increments (0.1-0.2) with my .223 Wylde barrel.

I have the same gun. Working up load. Used varget. It was OK. 748 sucked. Benchmark baby! Boom. Same bullet - 68 gr hornady and 23 gr benchmark. Shot 3 4 shot groups and worst was .670.
