EDITED: Didn't see the video link. Asked questions that were answered in video.

Mmmmmmm....hammer forged barrel....free-floated. My father LOVES his Ruger American .308. The rubberized overmolding on the grip and handguard really impressed me. Tang safety, YES!! Ruger packed so much value into that rifle.

Ruger is going to steal Remington's fire if they don't wake up and start reading the market better. They've already unintentionally angered many people (here)....I'm sure it won't take much to convince many to buy something OTHER than Remington.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
Ruger just gave the green weenie to Mossberg. I am tired of waiting for a Mossberg MVP in 300 Blk.
I will buy a Ruger as soon as I get my hands on one!

I wanted a bolt in 300blk, but I grew tired of waiting on Mossberg. I picked up my Handi yesterday. I really like it, but I'd love to try out the Ruger.

Now I have to handle one of these to know if I should be waiting for an MVP.

Has anyone seen the barrel rifling specs? I know it is 1:7 twist, but will it be 5R like on the Remington? Or a more traditional rifling? I'm a believer in 5R rifling, think it gives higher velocity, less copper fouling and better accuracy.

It will have 1in7", right hand, 6 groove barrel.

P.S. A barrel with an even number of grooves is much easier to 'slug' to find the groove diameter to use cast bullets.

Be nice if it was designed to take Mini-14/30 or AR15/M16 magazines on the bolt gun

LOL...
Bill Ruger was a staunch believer in limited magazine capacity.

That is why you did not see a Ruger branded magazine for the 10/22 that held over 10 rounds until well after his passing.
