What do you do with no-good optics?

Post by attila. »

So, I have a 30+ year old tasco no-magnification rimfire scope that is way beyond worth fixing, as well as a POS Leapers scope I purchased for my first AR build (budget build because I had a different mindset back when I didn't have a job). The Leapers works, but it's shitty glass I don't ever want to use if I don't have to, especially not passed 50 yds.

The problem is that I won't ever be wanting to use these two scopes, and I can't bring myself to try selling them since there isn't a single good thing to say about either one... The Leapers could work if absolutely needed, but no further than that.

What would you do in this situation? Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

when you figure out what to do with them tell me. I have 4-5 junk scopes that have been collecting dust for years. just can't bring myself to throw them out.

You could always try to reproduce the single bullet through the scope shot.

I have a ncstar that I bought thinking it'd be better than it was for $130 (should've gotten another prostaff instead). Can't bring myself to sell it either. I should put it on my air rifle.

Maybe give them to a local Boy Scout troupe if they have a shooting program of some kind.

I did a chinese scope round-up&cleanout 2 years ago. I sold 2 Tasco Varmint scopes, along with one of those 'pos' Leapers for an $80 package deal and actually felt as though I made out like a bandit afterwards. That chinese crap isn't worth the rings they're mounted in. I swear those scopes look like you're peering through the bottom of a drinking 'glass' with a reticle painted on it.... just thinking about looking through one makes me angry.

I change my mind, you need like 5lbs of tannerite - give um their wings.

Yes, I am a Baptist, and yes I carry a gun. You might think I carry a gun because I don't trust God. Well you would be wrong. I have complete faith in my Lord. It is mankind I have no trust in

Gave some to the kids around here to play with. Some of the heavier ones can be used instead of bats.
