Ok, so stick a spare bolt in there, make sure it's rotated in, measure from the crown to the face?

Yes. Barrel length is measured from the bolt face to the end of the barrel. Put the bolt in, put a rod in the barrel and mark it, measure the rod. If it is 10.2" and you want 8.2" then you know that you need to cut off 2".

Ok, thanks all, I'll update when the barrel comes Tuesday. Sure would be easier if liberty would cut and crown, but the barrel was on sale, so I'll break pretty even.

I got the barrel, stuck an old bolt in it, into battery, then inserted a cleaning rod. Set it all up on end so gravity would hold it together, marked the rod, and got a measurement of just under 10 3/16" from bolt face to crown. My thoughts are to have my smith cut off 1 11/16", so it will fall somewhere between 8.2 and 8.5" for Liberty. I'm going to double check with them tomorrow.

So what does it cost to get them to build an integrally suppressed upper?

Pretty surprising price for the level of performance, less than my Tirant. Of course I have to supply an upper, so it'll be pricey in the end, but still less than you'd expect.

$1707 for the upper alone. Not bad considering an AAC 9" upper costs close to $1000 and the AAC SDN6 costs $850. Can't swap the can to another gun would be the only major down side.

Don't need two stamps either.

Really? Is that because the OAL is over 16 so it's not considered a SBR?
