Powder coating f&&&@@@k me won't shoot
Have done many billets now n with a jig to sit them in am getting a very nice finish but believe the coating is too thick as it has changed my seating depth massively and the things won't shoot even close to my zero like 2.5 foot difference at 50m. What is happening having not recovered one can't tell but think the coating is peeling n sending them wild

What mold are you using? Lee 230?

did these bullets shoot well with conventional lube? Which bullet?
Re: Powder coating f&&&@@@k me won't shoot
I saw where at least one guy ran his powder coated bullets through a sizer die afterwards.

I always size mine because they tend to be too big after coating if you are starting with a properly sized cast bullet.
My coated bullets are .309"-.310" after sizing.

Same here......I coat them with 2 coats. They are .311" before coating
and about .314"-315" after coating. Then I run them through a .310"
size die. They actually push through quite easily.
You should also chamfer or "bell" the case mouth. I prefer chamfer
but many guys I know use a Lee universal neck expander to "bell"
the mouth a bit so the bullets will slide in nicely.

You need to resize your bullets after powder coating as they tend to get "fatter". That combined with thick necks of converted brass can give you problems. I use Lee universal expanding die prior to bullet seating. Use Lee factory crimp die, only light crimp is needed in my experience. Drop your finished rounds in a Sheridan gauge to be sure you're within specs.

Sorry should have mentioned that yes all are resized and gas checked even tried resizing before and after, using a lee 200 gr mold n these bullets shoot extremely well with just allox lube.
Re: Powder coating f&&&@@@k me won't shoot
And always use expander die n bell the case mouths n finish with a very light crimp just enough to return the mouth back to its proper shape

If you are running a gas check then why powder coat?
