My barrel arrived last week. The smith mounted it today, and didn't mention any problems in the "it's done" voice mail. He did say that he runs a go and no-go gauge through as part of the install.
Hopefully whatever problem they did have has been fixed. It does appear that PSA has some kick-ass customer service though. That's definitely a plus.

So I finally got to shoot my barrel more than a couple shots, and I checked my brass. Mine is leaving marks like others that I have seen online. I didn't pay attention to it when I test fired it after my build. Here are pictures of the brass:

I guess I will be calling PSA in the morning.

Give them a shout. Don't be suprised if you have a shipping label e-mailed to you in hours. So far they have shown themselves to be top shelf in taking care of this issue. Like I said earlier, mistakes are made (sometimes through no fault of your own - like getting a check gauge that is out of spec) what sets a company apart is how they take care of the mistakes. PSA is aces in dealing with this!

Glad to hear about PSA's CS. I've been eyeing their barrel for a possible purchase.

I got the same gouging (actually worse) in my brass. They have sent it back to me already.. I hope they fixed that too. I did not know that was something that was considered a defect and was fixable under warranty I did send them a fired piece of brass with it.

Are you guys referring to the vertical striations near the mouth of the case? I shot my PSA barrel for the first time last week, but I haven't really looked at the brass yet. Maybe I should.

I got vertical scratches, but I also have two gouges that happen on every single case I fired in the exact same spot.

Called PSA and they sent me a label and I am getting it to UPS today. Great customer service.

This from PSA's website: "It is the customer's responsibility to check the headspace of the barrel..."

Just wondering why PSA can't do it themselves and ensure that their product is GTG? I would think that it would benefit both PSA and the consumer by taking that step. If there are known issues with the barrel headspace, why ship them out in the first place and have the consumer go through all the trouble and send it back? Is there something I'm missing?
