My son's new blaster

Post by dpete »

Over the past few months my son and I have been acquiring the pieces and slowly assembling his blackout pistol. The last piece to arrive and be added was the SBA3 brace. He is a huge Star Wars fan so it is as close to being a blaster as we could get.
The specs:
10.5" KAK barrel
Double Star upper/lower set
KAK flash can
12" carbon fiber handguard
Magpul afg
SB SBA3 pistol brace
Fastfire III as temporary sight

It has passed the initial function tests and we'll get out today to put some more rounds through it. He fully intends on using it for deer this season and why not? Its perfect snow camo for the conditions we usually have around here in Nov.

Looks good. Does it go bang or "pew pew" like a real blaster?

Yes, I am a Baptist, and yes I carry a gun. You might think I carry a gun because I don't trust God. Well you would be wrong. I have complete faith in my Lord. It is mankind I have no trust in

Kinda reminds me of a light grey build that I did about 10 or 12 years ago.

Looks nice. Refreshing to see something other than a black AR these days.

Hello - Is the "white" rifle a pun on 300 BLK ?? I like it.

May I ask, did you refinish all the light (what colour is it exactly) pieces yourselves?? If so what is the coating system?

Thanks
Foster

No pun intended at all. For where we hunt the 300 BLK is more than adequate and he is a huge Star Wars fan. Plus its great snow camo.
The coating system was as simple as they get. Wipe down all the pieces to be painted with acetone to remove any oils, mask off any areas that were to stay black, then spray with a Rustoleum flat white rattle can. All the painting was done before assembly, which allowed the small pieces to easily stay black.
