How hot does a can get?

Anyone ever measured their hottest suppressors? Is it over 450F?

making your suppressor glow IS abusive! unless you are a manufacturer doing a test, it seems like a dumb thing to do. I wonder though, will the can warp out of alignment to the bore after it cools or do they hold their shape?

I've been seeing a lot of nylon "mirage covers" for suppressors but Nylon 6 melts at 428F and Nylon 66 is up where polyester is closer to the 500F mark. In looking at various fabrics, the actual composition often isn't specified, so you're stuck testing it to see if 428F makes it melt or if it's the higher temp stuff.
Then those same people say "don't get it hot". BLK? If it's not hot, you don't get mirage!
I'm not going to call anyone out, since I'm not a customer with a complaint to air. It's just an observation.

I doubt that I have ever gotten mine hot enough to boil water with.
And I shoot it on full auto 9mm, semi auto 223, blackout, etc.

Water takes a lot of energy input to raise it's temp up. I dumped several pounds of barely solid formerly molten lead in a gallon of water and it only raised the temp up to around 130F. So that's a long soak of 700F material, and it didn't get it boiling either. It did get hot enough I didn't want to stick my hand in it anymore.

Been a minit since I've been on.............................. Doing the GUY THANG in wally world I spotted a Rachael Ray oven mitt that insulates up to 500 degrees for only $7.- or $8.-. 
Needless to say I splurged and got one. My can cools off quickly as the AR platform needs to be set up specifically for shooting with a can. (sub-sonic) Otherwise it will not eject properly or chamber the next round.

I went to welsco (a welding supplier) and got a welding shield and cut it up to make a liner for mine.
I think it was rated to 900 F.

Polyester is rated to around 500F, so that's not a difficult threshold. The 900F is a bit excessive for most people's shooting.
