New to me. I'm not a fan of the Axis series, but just in case you are interested.

Nice!
I'm not checking and comparing all the time but that might be about as affordable as a 300BLk rifle comes. :)

I own several Savage rifles that are amazingly accurate for factory produced firearms. If I didn't already own 2 300BO rifles I would give serious consideration to Savage's new addition. But ...... I'll have to check and see if one more would hurt.

I just picked one up today. Hopefully get a scope mounted and a few rounds through it this weekend. The mailman is supposed to leave me a 51t mount for my suppressor tomorrow. Will try some of my reloads for my 10" ar pistol. I'm guessing they might go super though. Will report back.

Managed to only get 12 shots through the Savage today. Mounted a Vortex strike eagle 1-6 scope. Shot two sighters then the two five shot groups. Range was 100yds using Hornady 190 sub-x. Looks pretty promising, I'm guessing most of the horizontal dispersion was due to my rusty trigger finger.

Yeah that 2nd target showed some promise for the load.

Savage disappointed a lot of people when they did not get a bolt gun on the market some years ago. The company line was something like they could not make one accurate enough to sell. Looks like the time spent was worth it.

I'm not sure what you were expecting and don't want to burst your bubble on your second post, but save those targets, you might not ever shoot better with subs at 100.

Factory rifle, factory ammo and a 6x scope, that's actually a very good group. Add in first time out with a new rifle and it says something about both rifle and shooter. Either both are pretty good, or just damn lucky. I guess time will tell. Nice shooting.

Maybe a quick review of the rifle if you can, I am sure it would be appreciated.
300 Blackout, not just for sub-sonics.

Dellet, you are correct. I didn't mean to sound too modest. They are some fantastic groups, just thinking I can tighten them up a bit with handloads. Maybe not, time will tell. I need to do some load development and see what that brings. The factory Hornady is way too loud for my liking with my aac sdn-6. Going to start with n-110 and nosler 190s. That is what my 10" ar likes and they are very quiet. I will try to get a review of the rifle posted as soon as I can.

Well, I loaded up a few rounds tonight with 8.1gr n-110 and 190 nosler custom comps. Shot two over the Chrono to check velocity, running about 1000 fps. Second shot of the actual group had a light primer strike so I ended up with only a four shot group. Must need to adjust my sizing die a little. The picture of the group speaks for itself

Shot a second group with the hornadys, not quite as good, but respectable. I was rushing a little as rain was moving in.

Mini review of the rifle:
Fit and finish is very good for a rifle in this price range. Only negative is the barrel is not quite centered in the stock. It's close to touching on the right side, but still free floated. A little sanding will provide a little more clearance but it's evidently not really necessary.
The accutrigger is very good. I adjusted it all the way down, didn't put a scale to it but I'm guessing a little under 3 pounds. There is no perceptible creep and it breaks very cleanly.
Feeding has been flawless from the magazine. Ejection is good, if you baby the stroke to keep the brass on the bench they sometimes fall off and stay in the action. Typical of most bolt actions that I own so not really a negative.
Overall I'm very pleased so far with the rifle. It appears to be a real shooter.
