Problem fixed? I have machinists/ gunsmiths shorten and d&t my hammer for custom threaded extensions. They're lighter than factory extensions and I have yet to have one come loose. I do apply a dab of blue loctite though.
Thanks, Dinny

Guess I'm just lucky. Never had a misfire on my 300 AAC. Has a hammer extension and a trigger job.

Re: Handi extended scope mounting
I bought a couple extra hammers from Gun Parts with the idea of drilling a hole and tapping in a steel pin to make it easier to pull the hammer back with a scope. I also planned to try and skeletonize one a bit to try and improve lock time. I got to where I found that I needed to anneal it before I could work on it. About then I moved and I haven't gotten back to it.
My concern is after I anneal it, I do I harden it again with out screwing it up...

I have known a few people who have epoxy glued mounts on. May be more damaging to the finish than D&T.
The Vianni scope mount might work also and only need to DT the barrel ?
