Q has a bolt action pistol at SHOT and Remington will be selling the 700 as a pistol. I'm really hot on the concept of the bolt action braced pistol. I took a long while warming up to the AR pistol, but I'm a fan now. Same concept in a bolt action sounds like as good a way to blow money as any.

Don't forget single shots. There's always a new way to blow money.jlwilliams wrote:Q has a bolt action pistol at SHOT and Remington will be selling the 700 as a pistol. What stock/grip is on that TC contender and where did you get it?

The pistol is CVA scout. The grip/adapter is 3-D printed by a guy using the name FarrowTech. https://farrow.tech/products/cva-scout- ... be-adapter It works well enough, but I didn't like the printing lines and the feel of the ABS plastic, so I sanded it down and put on a rubberized coating.
The brace is a SB Tactical SBA3 which comes with a six position tube. Until the ATF changes their opinion on shouldering a brace, you don't give up anything using the SBA3 compared to standard collapsible stock. I had every intention of SBRing this pistol, and still may at some point, but I'm in no hurry now.

There are some cool parts on that site.

Not at that price for me.

I have to admit that I do a lot of stupid things for no other reason than I can or it’s fun. Putting a pistol brace on a bolt action would have to fall into the category of stupid fun because I can.
It won’t be a good pistol, and it won’t be a good rifle substitute. Kind of like taking the worst traits of both and combining them.
I see it as buying a potential 1000 yard MOA rifle, then throwing away the stock it came with and putting the barreled action in a rubber take off Hogue that most people are willing to give away. Nothing ruins a good rifle faster than a crappy stock.

300 Blackout, not just for sub-sonics.
