New Here + First 300 BLK Build

Post by gnumadic »

Hi, new to the forum (first post but occasional lurker). I just completed my first 300 BLK pistol build (third AR platform weapon with the first two being rifles in .223 Wylde and 6.5 Grendel). Pics and build list below. I'm running supers right now but have plans to go suppressed later (have yet to pull the trigger on the trust/stamp process). I've only put a couple boxes through it so far, but once I got the gas block adjusted it ran flawless (both select fire and echo mode). Collapsed length is 22.5".

Nice looking build, I shot one of those pistol brace stocks the other day and its very nice for what it is. Little out of my price range though. Congrats on the build.
I build the #TTFPowderStand for the Lee Turret Press

Thanks! The SB Tactical version is similar/cheaper but not quite as compact. But the reason I chose the Maxim brace is that you can convert it easily by just sliding off the brace and sliding Maxim's stock right in (thinking I'd SBR it down the road). However, I'm seriously rethinking that since I live right along state lines. It may well be better to just keep it as a pistol rather than have to go through BATFE notifications when I want to cross the border. And to your point it works well no matter how you use it.

You permission slip for border crossings can cover up to 1 year at a time. Send the form in once a year and you're done.

How does echo mode work?

Does it function as a burst, or act like a full auto?
