Best Factory 300BLK Subsonic Ammo

Post by renegade »

I have been using the SilencerCo 220 with great results. However I am running out and it does not look like they are making anymore. What should I switch to?

I have tried the Remington 220 and it was awful. 6 MOA at best. GemTech does not seem to be in-stock much so have never tried that.

I am thinking of the SigSauer 220 but looking for feedback and other choices.

It's been a while, but I shot some of the Hornady 208 Amax when it first came out.

I still use the bullet a lot. Any thing loaded with that bullet has potential.

Not sure what you mean by "best" but if it's terminal ballistics you're referring to the Lehigh Defense 194gr load is, as far as I know, the only subsonic load that will expand. They are expensive as all get-up (~$2 a round) but from everything I've seen they consistently work as advertised.

If Hornady's new 190 gr sub-x can get close to lehigh 194 gr at a better price, I'll be buying hornady. Just wish they would hit the shelves. Looking at the gel test on hornady web page, looking good so far.

How are you defining "best?"

I personally am looking for the quietest subsonic factory ammo and the quietest with the highest performance in terminal ballistics.

We carry 208gr A-Max http://www.midamericamunitions.com/300- ... ctile.html
and
a 220gr PP (Plated Projectile) which is safe for suppressors http://www.midamericamunitions.com/300- ... sonic.html

We'll soon have 200gr Rapid Expansion subs available on our site as well and they're ridiculously awesome!
