Your best group

Post by rebel »

As said in another thread, it's getting a bit dead around here. Last summer we ran a subsonic contest. Let's have a winter match that's a bit different. How about your best group at 100 yards with a centerfire cartridge of any type? Platform doesn't matter, any rest or bag configuration. Now I know, some folks can't shoot here right now due to weather or health reasons, so I know participation may be limited.
I also realize this is a cartridge specific forum so I am proposing anyone that gives a 300 BLK entry is in two classes. One overall and one 300 BLK. February is half gone so lets give it till 3 /25/17.
Before I post rules and requirements - is there any interest? I'm going shooting shortly just to smell the gunpowder. What say guys, you game?

I'm already participating in a monthly shooting challenge on sniperforums.com so I'd be up for sending a few more shots down range. My 300BLK shoots horrible groups with my reloads for some reason, and I'm too cheap to buy the factory loaded ammo that does group well, so I'll be shooting my bolt gun in a different caliber... Same bullet size though!

Count me in.

The best group so far this winter.

If we can find the target, we're in.

So targets can be any paper target as long as groups are measurable. No steel splats or holes in stumps or 78 Pinto fenders.
Targets should be posted as such -
Image
Caliber
Must be 5 shots
100 yards
Group size with verification. Calipers are better than rulers but anything with measurement marks. Outside to outside and minus caliber
( .308,.264,.243 ect.)
Open category - any caliber, any platform. All groups judged in this. 300 BLK category - all platforms. Open gets you bragging rights, 300 BLK gets the jar of mustard
No whining
Sound good?
Get to it gentlemen.
Edit - any load development pics can be posted, just state that when posting. Conditions aren't required but it sure helps knowing what you are dealing with. Any other suggestions are welcome, just keep them to yourself

Now the million dollar question for me. Do I do my new SPR build? Or my 16" .300blk? Also. Whatever I do. There will be video proof on my YT channel. I have to do some filming of accuracy testing of my SPR anyway. Gotta see if that ballistic advantage moa guarantee holds water.
