Any Glock Tinkerers Here?
Looking for some barrel fitting info for my G20. Crickets over at GlockTalk, and I know there are some tinker-types here, so I figured I'd stick a hand out and see what happens.

Re: Any Glock Tinkerers Here?
What do you mean by "barrel fitting"?
Re: Any Glock Tinkerers Here?
I picked up a NOS 400 CorBon barrel on GB (as well as a G21 slide), but it didn't fit, at all. After some checking around on the internet and youtube, I got my file out and went to work. I think it's good now, but I'd like someone with some experience in fitting barrels to slides to review my work before I fire it.
Here's my post over there.

I see, thanks for the link. From reading your post and looking at pictures, I'd fire the gun. Normally, I'd recommend Rob at Bowers Tactical in Centennial to double-check your work, but he's laid up in the hospital right now. Have you upgraded the slide lock yet?

Re: Any Glock Tinkerers Here?
I didn't see in your post that you upgraded your recoil spring. The Glock 20 actually uses the same guide rod and recoil spring as the Glock 21 (17 lbs) but the slightly heavier slide lets the G20 deal with the recoil a little better
A 20 lb spring will help manage the recoil better and you might as well upgrade the guide rod.
That is strange that it wasn't a drop in barrel. It should have been.

Re: Any Glock Tinkerers Here?
Since the .400 Corbon is a necked down .45ACP, I don't think it will work with the G20 slide. You would need a G21 slide to have the correct width breech face. Since you already have a 10mm I am not sure why bother with .400 Corbon....
Edit to add; looked at your other link. You probably should have posted here also that you are using a G21 slide.
Are you sure that you don't have a barrel that was meant to be an extended barrel for a G30? I don't know how different the G21 barrel is from the G30, but I can definitely tell you that a G20 barrel will not fit in a G29 (I have both).... The lockup surfaces are completely different.

20X, Rob is good people, I thought he was a 1911 guy, didn't even cross my mind to stop over at BT. Hope he's ok, sad to hear he's got the sickness.
A-Game, Haven't updated the recoil spring yet, having a heck of a time figuring out how to upgrade to a heavier spring and keep the dual style that the Gen 4s have, doesn't look like the Glock RSA is serviceable. This is my first Glock, so it's a learning experience.
Net, not even sure what a G30 is, guy on GB said it was for a 21, but extended. I know the 10mm and 400 Cor Bon are just about the same thing ballistically, but I have this weird thing for bottlenecks that I can't explain. I own or have owned handguns in 17M2, 17HMR, 32NAA, 357 Sig, 5.7x28, and now 400CB. 22TCM9R is next.
Am I correct that if I didn't change any dimensions on the rear of the barrel hood, that I shouldn't encounter any headspace issues? Thanks all.

I had to double check you were using a 4th gen.

Glockmeister is a local gun store in Phoenix with a good reputation.
Lone Wold Distribution carries 4th gen but I don't know if the spring is stiffer. https://www.lonewolfdist.com/Detail.asp ... 020&CAT=83

Re: Any Glock Tinkerers Here?
Spoke with Lone Wolf, they're holding at the stock spring rate for now, they say it might be a while before they can offer other rates. The GlockMeister RSA uses the same ISMA springs that LW slings, just a straight rod/spring like the Gen 1-3 used, which I might just have to end up using if no one comes out with a dual spring setup running heavier springs. Sometimes I wish I would have just gotten the Gen 3 SF G20, seems there is a lot more aftermarket support for the previous generations.
