cast load?

Post by Rich Coyle »

I found a great deal on 500 170 grain cast bullets. Anyone have a suggestion what load to use to get to about 1,050 feet per second?

You might check in the Handloading section. There's tons of info in there including stickies, plus you can use the search function.

I'm not sure you can get subsonic with a bullet that light. If you do please pass it on since I have that mold.

You can shoot any weight subsonic as far as I know. I had good luck with 2400 and cast bullets.

Yeah you can shoot any weight bullet subsonic. However anything under 190g might not cycle in an AR. Would be fine for a bolt gun/single shot though.

As I mentioned on other thread, 165gr coated cast bullets were only bullets that shoot under 1moa on my bolt action.
