1:8 twist

Lee 230 grn Cast w/gas check

7 grns Alliant 2400

7 grns Alliant 410
Avg......1060

10.5 grns R7
Avg.....1050

10.5 grns IMR4198
Avg....1055

Primer= Rem 6.5
_______________________

208 grn Hornady Amax

7.5 grn Alliant 2400 or 410

Both averaged around 1050

I believe it took 11 grns of either R7 or IMR4198 to average the 1050 fps mark...but can't find that data sheet. I don't recommend a Rem 6.5 primer with fast Rifle powers...go with a Rem 7.5, CCI 400, 450 or 41, WSR or WSRM...a true small rifle. A Rem 6.5 is kind of like a Small Pistol Magnum Primer...which is fine for Subs using Pistol Powders.

Same results on all with Micro 7 1:7 twist...and I would expect the same from any 16" bolt gun or single shot whether 1:8 or 1:7...didn't seem to matter.

Custom built SBR AR-15
KAK 9" Barrel pistol gas port 1:8 twist
Mixed brass mfg made in house trim 1.363"
Hornady 208 gr AMax
CCI 400 primer
Alliant 300-MP
OAL 2.255
Lee FCD crimped
All strings fired with YHM Phantom LT attached

I read that this powder is basically H110.
It is close but slightly faster burn rate.
If you follow Hodgdon's data for 110 including magnum
Rifle primers they will be supersonic every shot.
I've never used H110 but this stuff was very inconsistent in
velocities

This is the Hodgdon 110 load for the 208 AMax with a
magnum primer. With 300-MP and a magnum primer
every shot is supersonic. Overall not that impressed
with 300-MP for sub loads.

Fairly accurate.
As quiet, if not quieter than .22LR
FTE 50% of the time, due to short stroking, will try 7.2 grains next.
Expanded to 2" exit hole in water jug
Approx. 2" drop compared to supersonic at 25 yards

Keyword Catalog Code: LC-N110-208-SB

Try 10 grs of H110 and Missouri Bullet 247 powder coated bullets , no noise and accurate and cheap. No bullets deflecting issues after either.
Best Subsonic load I have shoot for accuracy . ejects out of 8 and 16" bbls

People talk about H110 is not a subsonic powder.
I had issues with the SMK 220 grs and 208 a max
Then I loaded the 247 Missouri powder coated bullets with 10.0 and 10.2 grs of H 110 and it works well.
Best Accuracy and ejects great out of both 8 and 16" bbl. 1000-1050 after the can .
Cheap, fun , accurate , no deflecting issues .
Hunting ? no expansion deeper penetration clean holes ? depends but for the few Ill use the Lehigh rds or go up to 125NBT hyper

Hand loaded cartridge
Hornady A-Max 208gr projectile
9.2gr H110; measured on two scales
COAL @ 2.26"
Winchester Small Rifle Primer
Formed Lake City recycled brass
Light crimp
Not yet chrono'd

Shot from
Stoner rifle format custom pistol build;
8" Noveske Barrel, 1/7 twist, matched gas block and tube
M-16 profile bolt carrier group
H2 weight recoil buffer
SilencerCo Specwar 762 suppressor
Magpul PMag and steel 5-round AR Stoner magazines

This is certainly my "pet load" for this gun and bullet. I started at 9.4grs, which worked very well but I found that about 1 of 15 or so would go supersonic, so I dropped it down to 9.2grs and I find it to be ideal (~285ft alt., ~50 degrees Fahrenheit when shooting 9.2grs last). Feels and cycles just the same, brass lands in the same place (very consistently) and is extremely quiet. I was able to shoot this load through my same Noveske build side by side with factory Remington subsonic loads and factory American Eagle sub loads both with the 220gr SMK FMJBT bullet; it was significantly quieter than both, which were about the same. The spent casings for the Remingtons were HOT enough to burn, something I hadn't noticed before, whereas my pet loads' casings were merely warm right out of the gun. I attribute this the the powder used.

Perhaps best of all, this load is extremely accurate. I need to do bench rest testing, but from an informal rest and not trying as hard as I could using a Gisele (sp?) trigger, and an Eotech I was able to manage a 6-round, ~2" group lasered at 50 yards.
Recovered projectiles fired into media look almost new, except without the red tip and with striations from the rifling; I would not expect any expansion or explosion with these, especially at low velocities--it's not at all what they're made for.
