Handi ejectors

Post by triggerman300 »

Anybody know if it's possible to have ejectors instead of just an extractor on the Handi 300? Those little cases are hard to grab and pull out sometimes. Just curious. :?:

See this website for a barrel modification to make case removal easier.

Or, you could find and old H & R single barrel shotgun with an ejector and copy it.
Either way it will cost you $money.

You wont be able to modify a old shotgun ejector, the issue being the 300blk has no rim unless you make your Handi brass from 357maximum brass and have a counterbore cut in the breech.

Your best bet is having Mike Bellm cut their scallops in the breech end of the barrel.

Guess I'll just deal with it for now, won't be hunting much "dangerous game" with the BLK anyway. Mainly got the gun as a starter centerfire for my grandson to hunt deer with. Just trying to make things easier for him.

My Handi 223 ejects, not sure why a 300 wouldn't, same base. Maybe liability (you'll put yer eye out etc, seen it).

Eject or extract? When you snap open your 223 Handi does the brass fly out like a shotgun's does or is it merely extracted out of the chamber?

It ejects.

A friend of mine bought a 204 Handi a couple years after I bought mine, and his only extracted. We theorized that the legal "liablility" of the ejector was why.

Ejector cool. Extractor boring.

I also just replaced the hammer extension on mine. The Uncle Mikes kept coming loose and the metal on the bottom of it was so thin it was starting to deform. I replaced it with a Grovtech. It's alot thicker on the bottom and has grooves for a better grip. Never heard of these until I saw it on ebay.

I am very interested in this as well.

I would dump another $50-$75 into my Handi if I could have an ejector installed.
