The purpose of filling out your info is to help show the trends in processing time. For example, http://www.nfatracker.com/TrendGraph.aspx with the "Form 4 Trust" and "Paper Form" being the only boxes checked, you can see there's a downward trend for those time of forms. In other words, the examiners are getting them done faster than they are being submitted and are currently around the 80 day mark for approval. However, switch to "Form 1 Trust" and "E-File Form" and you will see an upward trend, not processing as fast as they are being submitted, averaging around 50 days and going higher.

So, while you could keep the little information that they ask on the nfatracker website to yourself, by submitting it, you actually help out everyone else so they won't be calling after 30 days asking "Where is my can?" or "When will my SBR be approved?" - OR, believing the standard response from the NFA branch of "6-9 months".

Filed my first eform on 2/1/15 for an AR15 SBR. I was approved about 1/2 hour ago. Have another efiled form 1 for a suppressor that was filed on 2/8/15. Hopefully it will be approved next week

I received email confirmation that the form was "submitted/ in process" within 10 minutes of filing it. After 25 days or so I started checking the ATF site on a regular basis to make sure that there were no problems

I didn't get an email, I found out by checking the site. I'm still waiting for the correct version, without the "DRAFT" mark. I emailed them on the 17th or 18th, and it's not fixed yet. I called a couple of days ago, and the guy said to Ask the Experts. That's what I did in the first place.

He also said that I can NOT build yet, because of the "DRAFT" annotation, I'd be in violation. I think that's debatable, but I'd rather not debate it, especially with the Fed Gov. If it's not fixed by Friday, I'm going to call and email them again.
