Has remington come up with a fix for the ejection issues
I was just curious if AAC/remington has come up with a fix for the ejection issues with the 700 in 300 bo. I know you can monkey with the ejector but was curious what Remington's position was.

I had the ejector spring out of my 300 AAC bolt the other day and out of curiosity I compared it to the spring from my 308 bolt and found that it was 1/8" shorter. Swapped springs and the 300 ejects perfectly! I also added HS Precision bottom metal with the center feed box mag and it's like a new rifle. Feeding and ejection problems gone!

Hmmmm...
Might be worth ordering a 308 ejector spring to try out.

Another option you can do is get the bolt cut for a sako extractor.
I have the sako extractor in my Rem 700 and it is great. 100% ejection every time, no matter how slow you operate the bolt.

If this fixes the ejection issue, the gun will be perfect

Where do you guys send your bolts for sako upgrade? I dont have the machining ability, nor do i trust the local guys here to do it...
"Of course I'm carrying a gun. It's where I keep my bullets".
Re: Has remington come up with a fix for the ejection issues
I had a Sako extractor in my original bolt. When I shot a double charged round it trashed the bolt. Half of the extractor stayed in the gun and half went who knows where.
The Sako extractor fixed my problem but it weakens the bolt when you have the modification done. Most smiths machine out the front of the bolt and then they silver solder a shim in the bolt to get to the correct bolt face size.
I think the way to go is to buy a solid ptg bolt that is cut for the Sako extractor. Once you buy the bolt you are only out $50-$60 more and you have a lot stronger bolt.

I dont have exraction problems , but I have also read where getting a sako extractor can cause problems.

If you don't want to modify the bolt for a Sako extractor, maybe you could use the one Remington uses for .17 Rem. FB based rifles.
