FWIW I one time forgot to take the can off a carbon steel barrel for 6 days.
Because of the moisture in the can the barrel was badly pitted.
I now have all SS barrels that use a can.

Yes it's for real but it is only a prototype at the moment and still needs some development.

Awesome. Does it use a standard length BCG? I just got a Failzero BCG and having to buy a new one would blow.

The carrier is not standard. It has to be modified to get such a short recoil system to work. However it does retain the FA function.
