Was the barrel made for you by Hansohn's or something they stock?

These were McGowen barrels finished by http://bfgcartridges.com/. Give BFG a shout, they may have some left over.

Yes small/standard. I say small/standard because the terminology I encountered showed that small and standard were the same thing. It seems that there may have been a change in terminology over the years with savage.abinok wrote:Please forgive my ignorance. .. but the action threads are the same as the small shank savage 110 actions?
The key thing to keep in mind when looking is that you want to avoid "large" shank. For building a 300 blk out of a savage .223 rifle.
+1 for BFG barrels. Mine has been good for me with my Savage Axis 300 BLK build.

Savage has changed the spacing a few times, but surprisingly, Savage kept all rifles small or long shank.
The Axis 223 is a small shank.
The Axis 223 is a small shank.

Thanks guys.
Ive got a 112bvss set up as a switch barrel gun with 300win mag, 7stw, and 243 ackley barrels. Ive been considering adding some bottom metal to allow it to feed from AI mags. For the cost of those I can buy a axis and swap some parts around. Might even get the 308 with the threaded barrel. ..
