300 BlackOut Reload Data

Post by Sparky45 »

Is there a collection, listing, or specific Thread devoted to 300 BlackOut Reloading Data? I bought Lee's "Modern Reloading" Second Edition and there isn't ANY reloading information for 300 BLK or 300 Whisper. I feel cheated and am very disappointed. Any recommendations as to reloading manuals that specifically contain 300Blk data?

My Lee 300 Blackout dies did not (but the .45, .38, 9mm, etc. did ...)

Granted it only has 110 grain, 115 grain, 135 grain, and 220 grain loadings.

Thanks for the info guys. I am wanting to use GC'd Lead bullets I cast myself - 150gr and 200gr. That data is harder to find, and I'm not much on experimenting.

Well I am running 18.4 - 18.6g of a1680 with 147g jacketed bullets with good results, approx. 1750 fps. You could down load that to about 17g and see how she goes. I have not come across any load data for cast lead bullets myself, ago you may have to experiment a bit.

Here is my reload info that I used and fired...
Bullet 150 gr hpbt sierra matchking and 150 gr sierra spitzer bt
powder 16.1, 16.2 and 16.3 grains of A1680
winchester small rifle primers
cases were new hornady, re-used remington and reformed 223 (federal, and lake city)
over all length 2.1 - 2.2 inch
case length 1.355 inch
bolt action model 7 remington marked "AAC"
50 yard groups were 2x2.5 inch and I did NOT try real hard, mostly trying the handloads.
no chrono info, LEE dies

The lee 2nd edition book is a good all around book, so by no means were you cheated. It would have taken all of one minute to look online to see if others found the data in that book.

M80-weight loads won't be found in commercial publishings due to their sub-par performance for the caliber. Lots of good info on this site and the other links posted.

Hey C2_Drew; lighten up man, just a figure of speech. I should of said I was disappointed. I load at least 10 other calibers and guess what; they are in the manual. I'm just not delighted.
