The OAL is supposed to be about 2.230.
Not sure how long it's been there, but Hodgdon does have load data now on their website:

I don't see the Sierra 125gr OTM data though.

Hey guys. Noob here. Re: Lil Gun w/ Sierra 125 SMK. Loaded up 20 rounds with 18.8 gns at 2.194" oal (@same as Remington 115 factory load). Starting load based on 125 grn data for bullets with more case intrusion. Function 100% with bolt lock, no pressure signs. Initial testing, didn't chrono. Looks like MOA potential. Ordered 500 more from Midway. DSA 16" ss upper. Also play with 6.8, .458 socom, .308, 5.7x28, & 5.56 (duh).

Thanks! I was wondering if anyone else was using the Lil'Gun powder with good results. I think you are on the right track there. I was thinking that 18gr would be the max for this powder but it would seem that I'm wrong. I will have to load more and up the charges some. Not sure when I will get to test these rounds as illness in the family has me pretty much grounded with no relief in sight. It just never ends. Oh well, I can load all I want!

For what it's worth, also loaded WW 150 gn power points with 15.4 gns Lil Gun 2.010" oal. Also perfect function w/ bolt lock, no pressure signs. Accuracy good, not quite as good as 125 SMK. Very fond of Lil Gun. Have used it for magnum pistols for years. Really impressive in .327 Federal mag. Recently read some concerns about excessive barrel wear due to high temperatures in handguns.

Winchester 150 gn power
Point is 1.048" +/- depending on exposed lead deformation. Sierra 125 smk is 1.133".

The other bullets have to be loaded short to feed well with fully loaded magazines. The Sierra 125 was custom designed by me and Sierra to be loaded as long as 5.56mm ammo (2.230 is good, but no longer than 2.245).
I have been lurking here for several months gleaning information from the forums. I thank all for posting your results and experiences with the 300 blackout. This is my first post and question of what may be many in the future. Question-- how does the sierrra 125/ otm perform as a hunting bullet. I understand that it is a match bullet. I am looking for a reasonably priced hunting bullet in the weight range of 110 grains- 130 gr. with 16 inch carbine gas barrel.

thanks, 30 remmington

Not my first choice at all, for hunting.

Try Nosler 125 Ballistic Tips. At 300 Whisper/Blackout velocities it will work fine on small to medium sized game inside 200 yards.
