Just returned from TX hog hunt

Post by Bull »

Just got back from a good trip to TX pig hunting. I usually take down several rifles to tinker with, this year only took the 300. It was great, performed well, nice compact size and took out three pigs including my biggest (tusked) hog to date. I only used 110 gr. VMAX loads and was very happy with the performance. Also used a new light, The Kill Light, from Wildlife Innovations, that was very good. The light has a green LED and is supposed to be good to about 250 yards. I am not a sales rep or anything for this light, but it was probably the best I have used yet, and by no means the most expensive (+/- $149). Only problem with the light was that the pressure switch that came with it seemed to have problems when it got cold, at least that is my guess as to the cause. If anyone can give a quick tip on posting pics I'll put some up. Thanks

Congrats. Any pics of the light? I don't see it on WI's site.

Sorry, got the name wrong, Elusive Wildlife Technology. Or Google The Kill Light. By the way just spoke to one of the reps there and got the pressure switch issue squared away. Nice light, recommend it highly, green light didn't bother the hogs at all that I could tell.

Thanks for helping with the pics Schneeky. I am boiling the big boar's skull now, the bullet entered the right side of his skull and did heavy damage, left a crack about an inch wide all across the brainy area (medical terminology).

I am mounting the Kill Light 250 in red to my 300 BLK for hogs/Coyotes. Nice to see a review on my whole rig :)

Those kill lights are nice but how do you decide on what color is best?
