Sierra 125 gr TNT HP?

Post by TNinfidel »

Has anyone loaded for Sierra 125 gr TNT HP bullets using H110? What powder charge and OAL(2.010?) are you using?

Suppose to be an accurate bullet with "explosive terminal performance". Seems like this would be a great round.

I found the PDF you posted. No mention of H110 charge weights; only Lil'gun.

For anyone who would like to see gel tests, here is the link-

Now, anyone have data for the Speer 125 gr TNT HP using Hodgdon H110 powder? :?

Just don't use my charge as load data - I was reporting what I used, not recommending that charge weight. I had no basis to know how close my charge weight was to max pressure.

edit: For Speer TNT 125 HP

18.0 gr H110, OAL 2.050, avg. 2260 fps out of 16" McGowen brl on Savage bolt gun.
Very close to the same results in a 16" CMMG barreled AR, and runs great.
Haven't done any serious accuracy testing , but it looks promising.

Speer's product number is 1986. Maybe it's the same thing? Side of my boxes read, "30 CAL (.308") 125 GR TNT* HP".
