Is there any source for a quality 300 Blackout barrel in 11.5"?
Would it be worth it to wait for the AAC barrel and chop it?
The reason for the specific size is I want the shortest possible OAL with a Knight's midlength URXII.
Thanks.

Call Aaron at Delta Company Arms! He will get you taken care of on a barrel specific to your needs and aplication. You should also save some cost instead of cutting an re-threading the AAC.

I would have one made rather than chop the AAC.
First, the finish is amazingly hard and will be very tough on tooling. Second, Roberts done a ton of work and testing to tune the gasport size to the particular barrel length(s)

a 12.5 with mid-length URX will look like the fourth one from the bottom:

Pardon my ignorance, as I'm new to this caliber... But would 1" taken from a 12.5" barrel have an effect on the gas port sizing?
Re: 11.5" 300BLK barrel?
Yes, shorter barrels need larger gas ports.
But the difference would be small, and you would not necessarily need to change it or notice any difference.
This is not due to this caliber - the same applies to 5.56mm.

And the AAC ports are sized to run all combos of supersonic/subsonic/suppressed/unsuppressed so it's not necessarily a problem, just something to keep in mind.silencertalk wrote:Yes, shorter barrels need larger gas ports.

That's what I was thinking. The only barrel cutting I've had experience with has been 16" -> 14.5" in 5.56. No port adjusting was necessary.silencertalk wrote:Yes, shorter barrels need larger gas ports.

Thank you guys for the replies. Any updates on the AAC barrels?
Any other thoughts?
