Aluminum.
Re: Updated OALs
I remember you saying that these OALs are optimized to make the rib contact the bullet where its diameter matches the .223 case neck. Have you considered asking one of the die makers to make a comparator insert in that diameter? That way people could measure to a more consistent point than OAL (same idea as measuring base to ogive, just using a different diameter for the gauge).

Re: Updated OALs
Most of those values where made from CAD software loading the bullet and the magazine model and checking nominal fit.
Re: Updated OALs
Just curious have you tried the funtion/reliability of the 300 Blk in a Beta Mag?
Re: Updated OALs
No, but I have a SF mag on order and will eventually try that. I own Beta mags, but lost interest in them.
Re: Updated OALs
Does this mean that the magazines with the rib removed will not be necessary?

Re: Updated OALs
The magazines with the rib removed are necessary for ammo loaded longer. A prime example of this is 3-gun ammo which makes major PF. That calls for a 175 grain MatchKing loaded to 2.26 OAL which will make 330PF in a 16 inch barrel.
