Re: 300 BLACKOUT case gauge?
I would also like one of these case gauges. Would I need both a "go" and a "no-go"?
One further question - I have Forster 300-221 dies. My 16" AR upper is in 300 AAC BLK now, but my 8" is still in 300-221.
Can I continue to use the 300-221 dies even after rechambering into 300 AAC BLK, or will I need to get the new dies? I was trying to figure out if I'd have to get new dies or if I could continue to reload with the 300-221 dies. Also trying to figure out whether to rechamber the 8" 300-221 to the BLK.

Hard to say as 300-221 is not a standard so people could do whatever they wanted and call it that.
Re: 300 BLACKOUT case gauge?
I got the barrel and chamber from TP555 at Quarterbore - he owns Paladin Machine. The 8" works great but the 16" was having issues - he rechambered it to 300 BLKsilencertalk wrote:Hard to say as 300-221 is not a standard so people could do whatever they wanted and call it that.
Dies are Forster 300-221
Just trying to figure out what to do regarding recahmbering the 8", and if so if I'll have to get new dies.
Re: 300 BLACKOUT case gauge?
i'll take one as well once you run the next batch. do you all cut a shallow trough at the top (i.e. cartridge headstamp end) like l.e. wilson gauges to indicate min/max headspace, or is it just a flat surface indicating max headspace? I have not seen a drawing for the cartridge so I don't know if there actually are any published tolerances, but keen to know how you cut your gauges. knurling not so important for me. will subscribe to thread and look for updates on availability. Thanks in advance, $15 shipped is a truly great price.82nd airborne wrote:We made a run of about 20 for $15 shipped, and will probably do it again soon, as those lasted almost a day.

Are we talking about the same thing?
I would like a CASE GAUGE, for testing the re-sized cases for proper sizing, trimming, etc. Like this one for a different caliber:
I do NOT yet need a CHAMBER GAUGE that tests the chamber of a gun for proper head spacing. The "GO, No GO, and FIELD Gauges."
82ndAirborne, if you are making a CASE GAUGE, please put me on that list. Thank you.

Yes, they will be alot like that. Ill put you down for one. I have one of the guys turning some out on one of the manuals while the cycle is running on the barrels on the CNC machine. It is a slow way to get them done, but at least we have some starting to go out.
