I have a couple of books that helped in the building process. One is "The competitive AR Builders Guide" by Glen D. Zediker. It has spiral rings so you don't have to clamp it open to your desired page. Plus it has a lot of pictures. I have a neoprene mat that has a blow up of an AR with the parts labeled on it.
