Ammo shortage

Post by TexasEric »

I have been gone for awhile. My 300 SBR build has had no malfunctions!
The issues I am running into now is that, ammo is not plentiful. With the virus panic and the civil unrest across the country, blackout ammo is hard to find.
Where do guys get your factory ammo from in times like this. Reloaders, enjoy yourselves but be nice.

Thank you bro. This is great. I have packages inbound to the house.

I started reloading to deal with the issue. Plus, my public range doesn’t allow FMJ rounds and I build soft points for plinking.

Bringing this one back from the dead. The struggle is real.

Besides ammoseek and Sg ammo, where do you get your ammo? For 300blk and 9mm.

I was going to say it's time to start reloading given the price and scarcity of factory ammo. But the truth is reloading components are getting very hard to get. SR Primers are nearly non-existant, bullets are scarce, and 300 BO headstamped brass is backordered everywhere.

Thank goodness for reformed 223/5.56 brass.

I started buying components before this mess started, so I'm good for a long time. It's not hoarding, it's called foresight. The panic buying and shortages come around every time the political winds shift.

Absolutely it's not hoarding. It's looking ahead and removing yourself from competing with us who are trying to buy stuff.

Thinking back, when I first started reloading I would buy 100 primers at a time from the local gun store. Now it is 2-3 thousand at a time of small rifle and the same for small pistol. Large rifle 1,000 and large pistol maybe 2,000 at a time. Powder per load is really a non-issue except for large caliber rifles. Bullets as long as they are not specialty bullets, don't break the bank. Buy enough bullets to fill up a "if it fits, it ships" box from the post office and shipping cost are reasonable. I picked up a box of bullets at the post office once and the postal clerk said "what the heck is in that little box"? The box was beat up but it was taped well.
