No bolt hold open with Omega

Post by svh »

Sig M400 pistol lower
Sig 11.5" upper
JP Silent Capture buffer setup with stock spring
JP trigger kit
Omega suppressor with .30 end cap
Federal factory 5.56 55gn FMJ

Runs like a striped a$$ed ape, with or without suppressor, BUT with Omega attached, no BHO.?

Any ideas ?

Could be cycling too fast, mag follower may not be able to keep up.

My money is on this. 2 options put in a heavier spring or tungsten weights on the JP SCS or add adjustable gas block. I would go the gas block route if it were me.

I vote adjustable gas block as well. Most .223.5.56 shorties running a can need them.

What direction does the brass eject, both suppressed and unsuppressed (i.e. 1:00, 3:00, etc.)?

With deer season I haven't had a chance to revisit this setup. The buffer is an JP SCS. I have no answer as to where the brass lands.... Yet.

I plan to do some more firing of this setup in the very near future, and will supply some more answers.

Sorry, and thanks for replies.

Both my 8 inch blackout and 10 inch 5.56 run beautifully with a VLTOR A5 receiver extension an A5h3 buffer both suppressed and without. No need for gas blocks to keep fiddling with

Actually, JP recommends a LIGTHER spring (white). They say that the bolt velocity can be high enough that the latch doesnt have a chance to engage before the BCG returns to battery. This is exacerbated if you're using something like the Magpul BAD lever, or another device which adds mass to the bolt catch.

I'm having the same issue with my 8.2" Noveske 300blk; it wont lock back with my N6 attached (dunno about unsuppressed, never run it that way). I just installed the white spring. Hopefully that'll fix it...
