Re: New bullet design with a waist for Magpul magazines
Problem is the hollow pointing method will increase the cost substantially, at least the easily cast ones will. NOE makes his 247 grain in a hollow point.
Maybe I will get Accurate to offer the 240E without lube grooves to get to ~250 grains. Problem is I ordered 3 molds from him and one was right so I quit using him. He kept talking about tolerances this and tolerances that but it is funny he allows ~.0015 while no other mold maker has that kind of tolerance. One mold I ordered at .310" actually cast bullet that were .3125+". When I contacted him about it he told me it sounded like I just don't like brass molds but I did not like the fact it cast .003" over what I paid for and it was an EXPENSIVE mold, something on the order of $170 shipped, so I had to take a BIG loss when I sold it.

HP will make the bullet longer for the same weight, and it won't expand anyway, so HP is not a good idea.
Re: New bullet design with a waist for Magpul magazines
"Will not expand anyway". I have some 220 and 240 from Clearwater Custom with a generous exposed tip that expands exceptionally well. Is that because they are made with pure lead and everything else is close to wheel weights with tin and ar?

You don't want to shoot pure lead.

with a good design on the hollow point, they will expand very well with wheel weights at subsonic velocities.

When they are air cooled?
Re: New bullet design with a waist for Magpul magazines
I am confused. Have we not seen for years that no one, aside from exotic machined copper, can make a subsonic expanding bullet?
