Lots of folks have been able to run them fine out of an unmodified 300 BLK AR.
Others have had to do slight modifications to feed ramps, barrel extension, and magazines.
These are not P-Mag friendly and in a standard USGI Magazine, they can bind a bit if loading over 10 rounds.
The Nose has a tendency to find any edge inside your receiver that isn't rounded.
All things considered, I love Sweede's moulds and the HP version of this boolit would make an interesting hunting projectile.
The solid version is a hole punch though.
I sent some samples that I made to Twang-N-Bang to test on some ballistics gel and it went straight through two blocks without any change in trajectory.

If you are looking to an affordable subsonic cast boolit for plinking in an AR Platform, Sweede's 198 grain Spire Point is the best choice by far.

I will second the fact that the 311365 is without a doubt the best subsonic bullet that will feed in an AR. I have personally shot close to 1,000 of these and have never had one hang up. I suspect they will also pass right through like most subsonic bullets do.Dr.Phil wrote:Some do some don't.Rushthezeppelin wrote:So I'm assuming this thing probably won't feed in an AR correct?

Re: 311 247Gr. FN Hollow Point Moulds
I just cast a few to see. The solid ones are 251 gr. and the HPs are 235 gr. with the deepest hollow point it will do. That's with a wheel weight(ish) alloy.glennhmd wrote:so what's the final bullet weight of these cast bullets once hollow-pointed?
Edit: I'm not sure what happened with the first few. With a full batch, they're about 9 grains less that what I posted.

Has anyone done an expansion test on these yet? I'm thinking this is going to be my pig bullet this fall, but it's going to be a while before I get a chance to test them out.

I would REALLY like to see some expansion / terminal ballistic testing of these HP boolits!
