How about taking a drill press and a jig and drilling into the base to remove the desired weight?

Or HP it, pushing the Cg towards the rear, aiding in its ballistics, and giving it "more" expansion down range?

Moving the weight towards the back also helps the bullet tumble. Getting a bulletvto tumble is more reliable than getting it to expand at subsonic velocities.

Agreed, and more important as it's been shown that cast subs don't tumble much (or at all) through ballistic gelatin.

Did any one ever try chopping this mold? I have been curious about it for a while.

I could spec that out for you and built it. I was consider running a clone of the NOE XCB (Xtreme Cast Boolit 311-165ish) but if you know that this wil stack in a magazine with no issues I could build it.

I can modify the mold, I just wanted to know if the modified bullet shot well. I think it has some potential in 30-06, and maybe 300 Blk.

Lee TL309 230 5R Mod Question

This is old for the OP but I have found good results with the 200 gr bullets in 45 ACP. Lee makes a close copy of the old H&G that would work well.
