You could always physically check the twist rate just in case the barrel was marked wrong. It's a reach but possible.

That's actually a fair point. If I recall correctly, Remington had quite a few that were sent out marked incorrectly that actually had a 1:10 twist.

I tried to get a patch rapped brush to spin to check twist, but it only partially would spin. I shot a 12 inch Wilson 300 bo today. Same bullets, powder and brass I shot in the cmmg. 30 yards. The 230 Noe shoots good out of the Wilson. Image

I think I have bore or thread issue with the cmmg. I will check.

The bore measures .3075
The rifling that's on the bullet is not very deep. Got to be under 5 thou.

This may sound odd but maybe sizing at 309 would be better. 3095 would be perfect and I think 3105 is too large. Too large can contribute to inaccuracies as well.

Are you crimping at all? Crimping can cause significant problems when shooting cast bullets.

Are you coating these?
If so be aware that any blotchy coating can cause stability issues. I have been coating bullets for a long time now and I still have problems from to time. And with a 7 twist even a minor imbalance will show up.

Can you post pictures of the bullets you are loading as well as your loaded rounds?

Yes I crimping with a Lee fcd. No powder coat. Verals soft blue. I have shot 10's of thousands of cast bullet and never had stabilizing issues. The same bullets and loading procedures shot the smallish group out of the Wilson.
