The Barnes Black Tip TSX have a much longer, more pointed tip, and is much wider at the copper point of the bullet. The actual hollow point part of the bullet is much larger, which allows for easier expansion at the slower speeds of the black out. The blue tips are designed for a higher velocity. The black tips are very sexy bullet!

I believe its the expansion velocity. The black tips will expand at lower velocities than the blue tips. Meaning out of an SBR, they will expand at a further distance, all other things being equal, at a further distance in the black tip vs the blue tip. I know the black tip 110s are tested to be barrier blind as well, no idea about the blue tips. Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

I ordered 350 rounds of various 300 BLK loads from Chad a couple weeks ago, but working in the oilfield, I haven't had a chance to get home and try any of them yet. Though I do have a night pig hunting (NVGs/thermals) trip planned on these days off and plan to see how the Barnes black tips and the 110 VMax work out on some hogs. Might even get to try some of the 208 AMax on a pig or 2 if the opportunity presents itself. Gotta see what the rifle likes first, then I'm planning to order more if all goes good.
I'll report back here when I get a decent field test. Thanks again Chad.

Edit: also gonna pick up some of Chad's 308 sub loads for some silent hog control as well. Right in the ear hole!!!!
AAC 16" 300 AAC BLK 1:7", BCM lower
Wilson Combat 16" 300 AAC BLK 1:7" Spikes Tactical lower
S&W M&P 15 556 AR 1:8" 5R
to name a few...

Which of the subsonics sounds quietest to you?
20 guns, 11 cans, and a ton of ammo!

Anybody heard from Chad at Dallas reloads lately?
He was supposed to send me some ammo 10 days ago, and I haven't received it yet.
I am only 10 miles away, so it shouldn't take too long.
He hasn't returned and of my emails, and the voice mail on his phone is full.

It's been a while since I've posted. My black out ammo has taken off. If anyone knows a 300 blk out brass source that can d0 20K-50K every week or two, hook me up. The brass is the hardest part to get right now, next to bullets. thanks!

Good to see you back here. I caught a bit from you on the THF forum a couple days ago. Hope some brass comes your way, we'll be knocking at your door.

What's the cost for 110 vmax if I send you my factory primed new brass? I have 500 pieces.

I am out of the 110 V-max, as most my other bullets. The only bullets I have available are the 155 grain Hornady A-max and the Sierra 180 grain SPBT. The 155 should run about 1950 fps and the 180 about 1850 to 1900 fps. I have lots of bullets of each.
