Hi Folks!
I've been having a ball with my 300 Blackout build which includes:
- CMMG 16 inch upper
- Plum Crazy lower
- YHM Phantom suppressor
And after a lot of fiddling around, I've found a very accurate subsonic load (viewtopic.php?f=141&t=68693&start=370).
But I still have one minor, but annoying, problem ...
The bolt does not lock back on an empty magazine with this load. (It does lock back on heavier loads.)
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Dave

Hi Russrex!russrex wrote:David,

The load is ...
Load number: 31
Caliber: 300 AAC Blackout
Brass: Hornady (used, resized)
Primer: CCI 450 (Magnum Small Rifle)
Powder: VihtaVuori N110 8.4 grains
Bullet: Hornady AMAX 208 grain
Cartridge overall length: 2.23 inches
Platform: AR-pattern, CMMG upper, 16 inch barrel, 1:8 twist
... which is described in more detail here:
viewtopic.php?f=141&t=68693&start=370
But I realized today that the load is not the problem.
The problem is the Magpul BAD (Battery Assist Device) I installed on the lower. On the workbench, it works fine, but when shooting, it just makes ever so slight contact with the lower, releasing the bolt unintentionally. Removing the BAD removed the problem.
I know, I'm an idiot
Thanks!
Dave
