SDN-6 not budging from MPW

Post by chip12345 » Tue Jul 19, 2016 1:41 am

Took out my 9" MPW with SDN-6 a week ago and after about 200 rounds of subs and a couple of mags of supers (all factory, mostly Remington) the can refuses to budge from the mount. The ratchet lock can be depressed, but can does not move. Any tricks to getting this off again?

I've had mine become difficult to remove before but never completely stuck. Best I can say is squirt something inside where the mount meets the can. Breakfree, penetrating oil, or even break cleaner then work it loose by trying to tighten and loosen. After you get it off clean the mount and inside the can where it attaches real good. I do this regulary now and haven't had an issue since.

PB Blaster will loosen it up.

thanks, that's what I presumed - good to know there aren't any other special tricks.

Strap wrench if you need to go there.

Get some nickel anti seize and put a light coating over the threads of the flash hider when you get it off and it won't happen again.
