JP Silent Capture Buffer Spring Do it or dont do it?

Post by MPWfritz »

Im sorry if this has been talked about before. Is this buffer a worthwhile addition to the MPW? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-h6WzXM1h8 I dont have mine yet so I have no opinion personally yet. Thx

The question is aimed at only AAC MPW or the URX3 KA upper. Please also tell us if you have a MPW or URX3 Upper. Thanks.

If running a suppressor or wanting your rifle to run the smoothest then yes. I have it in one of my rifles and love it. Quieter and very smooth. Just depends if you want to pay that much

I can't say it runs smoother but it's definitely quieter. No regrets buying mine.

I put one in my 9" AAC gun.

Does it smooth out the action...yes
Does it make a big enough difference to justify the cost?...well i wont be buying anymore of them.

Well, I just ordered one for my 9" AAC.

I've been puttin it off for awhile, and this thread reminded me and pushed me over the edge. It wasn't a very hard push, because I've heard nothin but good (mostly) about the set up.

Not to derail the thread, as this might be useful to the OP as well, but which spring color from the spring pack would be good to start with ?

I will be shootin supers till I get my Omega in a few months, then mostly subs.

Do y'all change the spring between subs and supers ?

Thanks

The standard one to replace a carbine setup is all that's needed for supers and subs.

I did add the Tungsten weights. Still functions fine with my sub load, so i guess they didnt hurt. Except to make an already expensive spring more expensive
