AAC upper/rail alignment problem

Post by shootertom »

I got a new 9" upper on Friday and after mounting the suppressor it appeared as though the top of the rail was not aligned with the suppressor. After looking where the rail mounts to the upper receiver, there is a slightly larger gap on one side. I also took a straight edge and held it along the receiver rail and there is a gap at the end of the URX. If i hold at the other side there is a gap in the center where the upper and the rail meet up. My conclusion is that either the female threads on the rail are off or the male threads on the upper are off.

I am hoping someone from AAC will chime in and offer to help the situation. Perhaps it not a huge deal with the performance of the firearm, but I would hope for a better fit with a high cost upper.

Thank you in advance for the help.

Just call AAC. They will fix it if it is off.

Got the upper back today and as far as I can tell its a whole new upper. Its nice and straight and the SDN6 even hooks up with a lot less roll. Thanks again for the great help Nick! Definitely handles as best as I could hope for!

I do remember seeing your upper, and we did just give you another whole upper.

Thank you for the kind words. Glad we could solve the issue so quick.
