This is usually done to...

1. Clear dealers shelves of excessive inventory and free up capital
2. Make way for new products

Maybe AAC has a super wiz bang can coming out? Nothing super exciting talked about at SHOT, but who knows.

Edit.. Remember they just moved as well. Maybe they made a good deal to clear their inventory and dealers are passing that on

I just ordered a complete 16" AAC upper at a price just barely above a mid-high grade home-build cost.
